Curious Kindness
(Music and Lyrics by Jeff Zupfer)
Imagine a puzzle where every piece was the same
Every shade and every shape square and plain
There’d be no contrast, questions, no variety
No connection to the whole, just conformity
But in this puzzle that I’m living in
That’s not what I see
And when I look around my world I see
So much diversity
So much is different between you and me
Is this how I’m supposed to be?
With a curious kindness, we can learn and see
That we all belong and play a part of this reality
You might feel like you don’t fit
But you’re the missing piece
And we’re all part of this puzzle
Cause there’s no one like me
If we take the time to wander past our insecurity
If we study this big puzzle with curiosity
It’s okay to have doubts and not always agree
In this complicated, colorful scene
With a curious kindness, we can learn and see
That we all belong and play a part of this reality
You might feel like you don’t fit
But you’re the missing piece
And we’re all part of this puzzle
Cause there’s no one like me
Cause there’s no one like me
Cause there’s no one like me
